The essentials
A penny represents a hosting relationship and a business’s place in the story. These terms cover this website and project participation. The scope, price, and responsibilities for paid Coduvo services are agreed separately.
1. About these terms
The 1,000 Penny Project is owned and operated by Coduvo LLC (“Coduvo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), based in the United States. These Terms of Use apply to the public website at 1000pennies.com, including the Penny Wall, individual Penny Pages, and project updates.
By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using it. If you provide information on behalf of a business or organization, you must have authority to do so.
The Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. Accepting these terms does not enable analytics. You can choose whether to allow analytics in Cookie settings.
2. Pennies and participation
The goal is to grow Coduvo to 1,000 active hosting accounts, one business relationship at a time. The physical pennies are Dave’s way of marking that progress.
- Active Pennies represent currently active qualifying paid Coduvo hosting accounts. Cancelling or becoming inactive reduces that total.
- Pennies Issued records the real Penny Numbers assigned over the life of the project, including accounts that later become inactive.
- Your real Penny Number stays yours. It is not reassigned to another business after cancellation. If you return with the same participating business, you keep that number. New participants receive new sequential numbers.
- The Founding 100 recognizes the first 100 real qualifying hosting accounts assigned Penny Numbers. Recognition stays with those participants even if their hosting later becomes inactive.
A number or badge recognizes participation. It does not guarantee lifetime hosting, a permanent public page, priority support, a particular promotional result, or ownership in Coduvo. There is no separate purchase of a penny through this website.
Counters reflect project records and may take time to reflect a change in account status. Clearly labeled examples and temporary testing records are fictional and do not represent real paying customers. The illustrative Penny Page does not issue or reserve its displayed number.
3. Business stories and public listings
Participants may choose a public listing or remain private. Private participants count toward the project without their business details appearing publicly. Active public listings can include an outbound business website link. When a public account becomes inactive, its number and historical page may remain, but its outbound business link is removed.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your business information and for having permission to share names, logos, images, descriptions, and other submitted material. You retain ownership of your material. By approving it for a public listing, you give Coduvo limited, nonexclusive permission to display, format, and maintain it for the project and its Penny Pages.
We may review, request changes to, or remove material that is inaccurate, unlawful, misleading, infringes someone’s rights, or is unsuitable for the project. Contact [email protected] to update your details or withdraw a public listing. Keeping a Penny Number does not require keeping the business story public.
4. Coduvo services and offers
This website introduces Coduvo’s services and the people behind the project. An inquiry or a “Become a Penny” click does not itself order a service, issue a Penny Number, authorize paid work, or create a payment obligation.
Hosting, website builds, and other paid work are subject to the applicable offer details and the scope, price, responsibilities, and authorization agreed with Coduvo. Review the current Coduvo Terms of Service and the terms linked from the specific service page before proceeding. A signed service agreement controls any conflict about paid work.
Before requesting a website build or hosting, review Coduvo’s website and hosting restrictions. They describe excluded project categories, data-handling limits, and how qualifying informational healthcare sites and service-focused nonprofits are assessed. These service restrictions are separate from this project’s public-listing and website-use rules.
The accepted service agreement and applicable law govern enforcement, including notice, opportunities to correct a problem, urgent protective action, refunds, and return of customer materials. A later edit to the public policy does not by itself change an existing service agreement or override those rights.
Review the Free 5-Page Website Service Terms for that offer’s eligibility, hosting commitment, ownership, and cancellation provisions.
Offer descriptions on this site are summaries. The free 5-page website requires a paid hosting commitment. The $999 Business Starter website also requires Coduvo hosting, billed separately starting at $29.99/month. A website build alone does not qualify for a Penny Number; an active qualifying paid hosting account is required. Eligibility, what is included, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and ownership are governed by the applicable service terms. Project recognition does not change those obligations.
5. Using the site
You are welcome to explore the wall, share links to business pages, and learn about the project. Please use the site lawfully and respect the people whose stories appear here.
Do not impersonate a participant, submit material you lack rights to share, introduce malware or spam, access private records without permission, bypass access controls, or send automated traffic that disrupts the site. We may restrict access reasonably believed to threaten the website or its visitors.
6. Content and ownership
The project’s original text, design, branding, and other materials belong to Coduvo LLC or are used with permission. Business names, logos, and submitted content remain the property of their respective owners.
You may link to public pages and save or print reasonable portions for personal reference or business evaluation. Sharing a link does not grant a right to copy a business’s branding, republish substantial parts of the website, or suggest an endorsement that has not been given.
7. Business links and other websites
The wall celebrates businesses with a Coduvo hosting relationship. Outbound customer links reflect that commercial relationship and are marked as sponsored in the website’s markup.
A listing is not a guarantee of a business’s products, services, licensing, or results. Each business is responsible for its own website and dealings with its customers. When you follow an external link, that website’s terms and privacy practices apply.
8. Availability and responsibility
We aim to keep the project useful and accurate, but the public website is provided as available. Pages, features, and listings may be corrected, changed, interrupted, or discontinued. We do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free information, business leads, search rankings, or a particular financial result from participation.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Coduvo disclaims implied warranties for this public website, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. To that extent, Coduvo is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of, reliance on, or inability to access the public website.
These limits do not exclude liability or rights that cannot lawfully be limited. They do not replace the warranties, remedies, or responsibilities agreed for paid services.
9. Updates and contact
We may update these terms as the project develops. The date at the top will identify the current version. Changes apply going forward when posted, with additional notice where required by law. Changes do not reassign a real customer’s Penny Number or replace an existing service agreement.
If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the remaining terms continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
Questions about participation or these terms are welcome. Contact Coduvo LLC at [email protected].
